Baby Boy

My blood pressure had skyrocketed, so they decided to induce labor. We deposited our daughter at school, promising we'd let her know as soon as her sibling was born. On the way to the hospital, my husband made a wrong turn, apparently lost in thought, since he knew this route in his sleep. They hooked me up quickly to the monitor and induced labor.

The pains came almost immediately, and our new baby boy was born less than an hour later. I realized when I looked at him that it really was possible to love another child as much as the first. My husband gazed lovingly down at us and brushed my cheek with his hand, then went to get our daughter, so she could meet her baby brother.
