Birthday Cake

I sat in my booster seat patiently watching mom cut out the piece with my name scrawled on top. I watched her place the plate on the counter, then place the big chocolate cake directly in front of me. Cameras flashed wildly as I dug in with both hands, feeling the soft cake squish between my fingers. I shoveled it in for my audience, not even taking the time to smile for the cameras. I reached down with my face to grab the huge pink flower with my mouth, then burst into tears when the crowd started to laugh apparently at me.
