When my parents got divorced

My mom and dad got divorced when I was in high school. I expected it, so it wasn't traumatic. They had been separated for some time. By then, my dad was severely disabled as a result of his injuries in an accident he had before I was born. He was in chronic pain, which caused him to become addicted to prescription pain medication and alcohol. They used to fight a lot about his drinking, and I guess my mom just got tired of it.
