Welcome To The Planet

It was a long twenty hours and thirty-two minutes when my wife was in labor. A lot of it is a blur, and a lot of what I do remember is my wife in pain and screaming. But then, when it felt like it would never be over. There he was. Our little man, screaming his lungs out, announcing his arrival into this world. I don't think there were any two parents as happy to receive a child as we were. I know, that's a biased statement, but we were just so happy. I try to remember these moments when I'm feeling bad. I try to remember the feeling of family and completeness. It's a light in the darkness for me.
