We're Going to Disneyworld -NOT!

We had promised our kids we'd take them camping, and the time had finally come to pick the dates. We'd tucked them into bed, and now we sat across from each other with a calendar on the table in front of us. My husband sat with his arms folded, looking around the room at everything but me. "Well, I said, what do you think?" I felt like I'd been punched in the stomach when he told me he'd lost the vacation money gambling on a game, but he'd find a way to win it back. I shook my head and quietly walked to the bedroom closet where I started packing my things and tried to figure out what I'd say to my kids the next morning.
