Trying So Hard

It was all a new scene and I wanted to start fresh, almost become a new person. I knew that I had to show that I liked girls but I was just too shy. I got up the courage to ask her out one day, I thought she was really sweet and though I didn't feel totally attracted to her, I thought that I was just nervous. I walked up to her locker and started talking to her about how lame chemistry class had been that day. I brushed my hair out of my face and looked down at her, I swallowed the lump in my throat and knew it was time. I was so nervous, my tongue practically stuck to the roof of my mouth. I looked down at the floor and scuffed my foot against the tile….finally I got it out. 'Um would you want to go out with me sometime,' I asked sheepishly. Sure she said with a big bright smile.
