The Accidental Proposal

I suppose I was a rather silly girl when I was with my first long-standing boyfriend. I was so in love with him, I didn't really think clearly. I remember this one time we went to an expensive restaurant, and he started talking to me about commitment, and his parents, and things like that. I didn't realize he was just trying to talk about his past, I thought he was trying to find a way to propose. I was so excited and said yes, and the whole nine yards, only to find out the moment that he could get a breath in that I was mistaken. I felt so ridiculous, especially after the spectacle I made in public. We left shortly after that.
