Taking Care of Mom

My mom wasn't an alcoholic. Or maybe she was, I'm not sure. But she wasn't drunk every night. It only happened, like, once a week, so I don't know if that's considered an alcoholic. But when she was drunk she was a mean drunk. She would always do mean things to me and call me names. When I tried to help her, she'd lash out at me. I remember one time, when I was fourteen, I tried to help her into bed and she pushed me down and kicked me for my efforts. Ever since then I had never helped her when she was drunk again.
