Sweet Revenge

My boyfriend of two years had cheated on me. Devonne and I gathered every penny we could find at both of our houses, cursing his name and vowing revenge on the girl he'd been with. We threw the pennies into my purse, which suddenly weighed 100 pounds. Trying not to laugh, we lugged the purse into the local Burger King where she was working. We ordered three meals, extra fries and a shake in the snottiest voices we could. Then, when she shakily gave us our total, we dumped the pennies on the counter, and asked her to count it out for us. She blushed, and counted out our payment. I ate my greasy cheeseburger wondering why my revenge didn't feel as good as I'd thought it would.
