Stray Dog

I remember when that stray dog wondered over to where I was. It was a hot smoggy august day. I had been minding my own business, and was playing in a small mud hole just a couple of block from my house. I was fine until a couple of older neighborhood kids decided to come over and pick on me. I was only 4, why couldn't they just leave me alone?

They had managed to get a hold of me, and I thought it would all be over, when a small, but very tenacious dog came over and started growling and barking at the kids. They ran when the dog got close, and once they were gone he came over and licked me. In thanks, I managed to convince my parents to let me keep him and feed him.
