Santa's Not Real

I knew the tooth fairy was a fake, but I was still so heartbroken when I was told that Santa wasn't real. I felt so lied to. I was only 9, and I wasn't ready to know that the world didn't actually hold any magic in it.

Yet, no matter what reason or logic I tried to argue, my brother was able to explain it all away as one big made up story from out parents. That night I cried silently into my pillows, making careful note to be more careful about what I believe from anyone.
