Sad Grad Day

I couldn't believe the day was finally here, I was ready to take on life with a vengeance. I already had the job lined up and was ready to leave this campus I had called home for four years. I could feel the tassel hit my ears as I walked anxiously through the crowd. Finally I found them, I saw my mom first as she beamed at me with so much pride and excitement all over her face. I scanned the group that was there for me, but I didn't see his face. My anticipation grew to disappointment as I realized that my dad wasn't there. I tried not to let it get me down as my mom explained that he wanted to be here, but I couldn't believe that he wasn't there to share in my big day.
