It was my role to take the traditional basket of food to the church to have it blessed. In my basket were two big "paskas" (round loaves of egg bread), 60 eggs (some hard-boiled and some raw), "kobasa" (sausage), cheese, and horseradish. The blessing of food was at 4 a.m. But I woke up late. I took my old bicycle and rode as fast as I could. But it was still dark. When I was close to the cemetery near the church, I fell down. All 60 eggs had fallen out of the basket and into a ditch, and I had to grope for them in the dark. But I couldn't find all of them. By the time I finally arrived at the church, I was too late to have my food blessed.
