Not Wavering

It was disastrous when our parents found out about our engagement. Both felt that our love for each other, and our engagement was inappropriate because I had been engaged to his brother. My family sent me off to my aunts to live to try and separate us, and his tried to foist another woman on him, but both of us knew what we wanted, and neither of us would be kept from what we wanted again. I ran away from my aunts, and he came to pick me up, and we went to his house up in the mountains. What transpired there is best not to discuss, but we devoted ourselves to each other there, whether or not our parents consented.
