No Trust

'Why can't I just talk to you?' Steve pleaded with me. Somewhere inside of me I felt bad for him. He shouldn't have attached himself to me. I was never going to be vulnerable again, and I wasn't even interested in talking with him. Even if he was nice, he would just turn out like all the rest.

'You don't understand,' I told him, ready to hang up the phone.

'I might if you explained it to me.' He urged.

'No. I don't think you would, even if I did explain.' And with that I hung up. I didn't trust him or any other man for that matter, and I was just glad to have gotten rid of him before he hurt me too.
