My grandmother dies

We saw my grandmother's death coming for a while, because she had an inoperable tumor in the front part of her brain, right behind her eyes. For a while it just gave her headaches, but toward the end she started getting blindness and losing her senses. After she passed we drove across the state to see granpappy and take care of some things. I was sitting in the car thinking about the times I had seen her, and it occurred to me I never really spent much time with her. I asked my father why that was, and he just told me it was because she was an "old loon." I never heard him talk about his own mother that way before.
