Fourteen months after my second son was born, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She was the first girl born into that generation of my husband's family. So everyone was ecstatic-especially my husband's mother. She had always wanted a daughter or granddaughter to spoil. My husband's cousin had always been so good to me and my kids that I decided to ask her to be my daughter's godmother. She didn't have any children of her own and doted on mine.
My sister-in-law was so angry she let everyone know her feelings were hurt. So I told her that, since our daughter was being baptized in the Catholic Church, the godparents had to be Catholic-which she wasn't.
