My dad left home when I was six

It was 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night, and mom had just finished giving me and my two older sisters baths.

Dad had been fidgety at dinner and mom unusually quiet. My sisters and I squished together on the couch together for our nightly ritual of t.v. watching. Dad came over and hugged and kissed each young girl and paused when he got to me. He patted me on the head, messing up my newly washed hair and told me to be good for my mother. Then he glanced at her and walked out the door, revved up his Chevy and was gone forever.
