The steel company I worked for offered me a big promotion. But it meant moving to a big city in another state. I didn't want to leave my hometown and everyone I knew. I particularly didn't want to leave my father-in-law and my wife's family. My father-in-law didn't want to see me go either. But he told me I had to do it for the sake of my children. It would give them more of an opportunity than they could ever have in our small, mill town. So I took the promotion and reluctantly moved away. But every chance I got, I drove back to see my father-in-law until he died a few years later.
