Mother of the Year

I won I won! I had written the winning essay for the local newspapers Mother of the Year contest. Not 3rd or even 2nd place, but first! I was actually on punishment in my room from 'Uncle Allan' for something that I didn't even do when the call came from the newspaper. The lady on the phone explained to my mother what she was calling about and wondered if my mother would agree to have her picture taken with me, the letter I wrote and her award for the paper. My mother agreed, but she had a strange look on her face after she read the letter of praise I wrote. I only wrote about how happy I was that she had promised me that she would stop drinking all the time with 'Uncle Allan' because she loved us so much.
