Loud Voices

I was playing with my Barbies in my room when I heard their voices. They grew louder in the room next to me, as I braced myself and cowered into a corner. I hated when they fought! I felt like my world was crumbling around me as they yelled back and forth, taking turns as their voices grew louder and louder. Finally I heard a door slam as my mom walked out of the house. The tears were flowing freely down my face now as I climbed under the covers, trying to cover my ears and get rid of their loud voices. My door swung open as my dad came into check on me, he pulled the covers up and grabbed me to give me a hug. He rocked back and forth with me, telling me it was all okay.
