Lost Love

I thought he was the one. I woke up to the sound of the alarm clock and could barely stand to lift my head up. I was struck with that terrible feeling, that lump in your throat and pit in your stomach you feel when you've lost someone. I kept flashing back to that moment when he told me that we were done, then I watched him walk away his grey trench coat flapping in the wind. I stood there in the pouring rain, in shock, just stunned, as I let the rain slap furiously against my face. My life was over, and I would never be the same without him.
