Losing my job

My company went bankrupt and was broken up and sold off. I was left with no job-and no pension. And I was too old to start over again. So I filed for Social Security and got a part-time job in a hardware store. It didn't pay much. But at least it was something. It brought in a little extra money and kept me busy instead of sitting around and worrying about my problems.
