Last Straw Maybe?

I had purchased the dress, chosen and contacted the bridesmaids, and finally told my mother it was really happening. So when we sat down to pick the exact date, and he told me he wasn't ready, I didn't know how to react. We'd been together for six years, and were starting to make baby plans, but he wasn't ready. I tried to stay calm as he talked about marriage being nothing but a useless piece of paper, but my leg was shaking uncontrollable under the table. I grabbed the glass of ice water in front of him, and tossed it in his face then slammed it down hard on the tile floor, shattering his favorite New York Yankees glass.
