Laid off

It was a rough day when I got laid off by the company I had been working for. I had been there for nearly 10 years, and I was amazed that they had even thought about letting me go.

I was so upset as I cleaned out my desk on my last day. I had been loyal to them, barely took time off, and have even been through a heart attack because of the stress I got from overworking myself. It just didn't seem right that they could end it all so quickly, with very little explanation.
