I got called to a robbery in progress. When I arrived, I saw a man inside a convenience store with a mask over his face waving a gun around. We tried to negotiate with him. At first it seemed like he might be listening, because we convinced him to let two of the employees go. But then he must have panicked, because he came out and started pointing the gun at us cops. So I shot him. Right in the chest, a perfect shot. This was the second person I had ever killed in the line of duty, and I knew an investigation would follow, but he needed to be dealt with before he shot at one of us. The worst thing is when one of your fellow cops is killed in the line of duty.
