Hiding a secret

By now, I knew for certain that I was gay. I'd had enough encounters with men and women to know I was definitely hooked on men. But I didn't dare let my family know. They would have disowned me on the spot. To perpetuate the secret, I had taken an apartment so they wouldn't know what I was doing. But I hated the dishonesty of it.
