I had heard the story from my dad 100 times. My family had been going into the army since world war I, and it was tradition. Yet, the story just seemed so different when my grandpa told it. He even included the women that had been a part of the armed forces.
'My pappy was in the army to, and so was his papa before him. Once they reached the age of consent, they knew their calling and went to sign up right away.' My grandpa said, 'Did you know that we have had men in our family, in every great war?' He asked me.
I nodded and then feigned interest as long as I could while he told the old story again.
