Goodbye Little Fish

I stood above the toilet as my dad said the words aloud. I made him come up with a speech to say goodbye to my pet fish. I was so sad, and I didn't want to say goodbye to him. I had found him lying there in his fish bowl, face down, and my mom said that he had gone to "fishy heaven". I didn't understand it, this was the first time I dealt with death and I missed my fish. We stood around the toilet bowl all together as we each said something nice about my pet fish and told him how much we'd miss him as he lay there before my dad flushed him away.
