Go Fly a Kite

I could feel the sand in between my toes. I was falling behind so I called to him and then grasped onto my dad's hand as I walked as fast as I could to keep up. He took it out and dangled the string on the ground so I could get a good hold. I looked up into the bright sunny sky as he threw it up as high as he could, I held onto the string firmly as we saw it start to rise. We started running through the sinking sand, holding onto the string all the while. Then there it was, getting higher and then higher still. He was beaming as he looked down at me, while all I could concentrate on was not letting go of that beautiful purple kite.
