Getting a job and an apartment

I got myself a job waitressing at local restaurant. I had some really nice regular customers who were very kind to me. And the people at the restaurant liked me too. I guess it was because I didn't mind doing a little bit extra, and I didn't fight the other waitresses over tables or tips. I rented a tiny little apartment over someone's garage, which was perfect for me. It was clean, it didn't cost a lot, I could decorate it the way I wanted to-and it wasn't a trailer. I tried to get my brother and sister to come and visit. But they were pretty tied into my mother's life in the trailer park.
