The second time that Garret asked me to marry him, I gave in because of all the effort he had put into getting me to say yes.
I hadn't been expecting anything in particular to happen as we went to the local high school football game to watch his little brother play. It just seemed like any other football day. It was when everyone looked up to see the airplane over head, that I saw the sign that was trailing behind it. Garret got excited next to me as I read, "Please Marry Me Jean Dooley, and Make Me the Happiest Man on Earth."
I turned to Garret, and as much as I didn't want to get married yet, I did love him and I could stand to tell him no again. When I said yes he spent the whole day telling everyone he was going to marry me and take care of me.
