Everyone Else's First Date

It was horrible. Everyone was supposed to meet their dates at the burger place before our first school dance. I didn't have anyone to go with me. Not only had no one asked, but I didn't have the nerve to ask anyone either.

It was the first school dance for most of the boys and girls in my class, I watched longingly as they all got ready to leave the burger place. I was jealous and upset that this would be nearly everyone's first date and dance, except mine.
