Dad is Sick?

'We have to go see Dad in the hospital.' My mom told me solemnly. It must have been something bad if she wasn't telling me what it was right away.

When we got to the floor he was on, we had to wonder a few mazes of hospital rooms before we came to his room. It was good thing we had a nurse to lead us there. When she brought us into the room and pulled the curtains back from his bed, I gasped when I saw him.

My dad had moved out 3 months ago when my mom and he separated. This made the shock worse. His skin was the color of a pumpkin, and when he opened his eyes, I could see that they were yellow like a cat's eye. It scared me, and took quite some time for my mom and the nurse to calm me down.
