Big Disappointment

I had the biggest crush on Dave from our youth group, and we'd been flirting for months. One morning at school, he ran to catch up with me in the hallway. I smiled thinking this would be the moment he'd ask me out. He pulled out a pink envelope that looked like it had a card in it, and I thought that was such a sweet way to do it. He winked at me and ran ahead to class, as I held tight to the envelope. When I got to Speech, I sat down and got ready to discreetly open the envelope. Then I noticed my best friend's name written in his gorgeous handwriting on the front. I handed it across the aisle to her and watched her open it. She giggled to herself, then handed me the letter that had been inside, wanting to share her excitement with me.
