40th Wedding Anniversary

My kids planned this huge anniversary bash for us when my wife and I had our 40th wedding anniversary. There were hundreds of people there (most of which I was sure I had never met), a band, catering, and everything. My wife and I were so surprised; I don't think we had words to express how grateful we were. I remember sitting there, staring at my wife, someone I may have never married had we not had our first son together, and thinking how grateful I was to her and to my children for filling my life that would have been so empty without them. Unfortunately. Our happiness wouldn't last much longer after that.
